Black Empowerment Forum of panelists addressed the plethora of issues affecting Blacks in Houston. The forum espoused solutions and ideas to offset community ills. One solution is to create an accountability checklist for political candidates seeking the Black vote and holding elective officials accountable to the proposed agenda. Another suggestion is to fire elective Texas lawmakers; regardless of creed, color, and party affiliate.
Apparently, Houston Democrat officials will not be riding on the coat-tail of Senator Barak Obama presidential bid. One guest speaker accused Black legislatures of ignoring the Black vote. Houston-Harris County voters turned out in record-breaking numbers during Early Election. Within seven days of early voting; over 700,000 voters had cast their vote.
This five minute trailers shows voters flocking to the voting poll. Voters had no problem expressing their enthusiasm for this presidential election. Despite standing in long lines for over an hour you can see and feel the tranquility. Voters were chatting, and some shared their disdain for long lines; but said they would stay all night if they had to. I am confident that it is the outpour of young voters that will make a difference in Election 2008; the first historical presidential election in the 21st century. “I am not a saint unless you see a saint as a sinner who keeps trying” Nelson Mandela.
Regardless of man’s religious affiliation or pompous disposition; Divinity hears the cursed thoughts of mankind. Divinity came to save Humanity from sin; human’s vulgarity; borne in sin, shaped in iniquity; and need of a Savior. And Divinity will confound the wise and choose those with unclean lips, or better yet; rappers who use profanity as a form of expression. What will you say if you stomp your toe?
Christmas Redemption Storybook is a four-part love letter sent by Divinity to Humanity. The first love letter shows Divinity zooming in on man’s cursed thoughts. According to the Synoptic Gospels; when the Roman guards came to arrest Jesus; overwhelming frustrations made Peter cursed, and yet Jesus say’s “Peter upon this Rock I shall build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail.” Peter was forgiven and redeemed.

National Disaster Response and Civil Liberties Excerpts:Karen Wilcox, President, Black Women in Fire ServiceAnita Sinha, Advancement Project Staff SecretaryDr. Geoffrey Varner
Its one of the two ways to look at Community Awareness Preparedness; ignore the topic and give it more credence when it becomes a major headliner; which could be apocalyptic if theres no oil in your lamp and the prepared doesnt have enough to share; Ok, so I took my analogy from a biblical parable that emphasizes preparation; but as long as major news outlets has headlined Brittany Spears, and Anna Nicole-Smith; C-Span, as far back as 2005 has televised a sundry of conferences on Community Awareness Preparedness for natural and man made disasters.
December the 3rd was my recent viewing of the National Disaster Response and Civil Liberties addressing Natural Man Made Disasters. The panelist of leading scholars in their fields of expertise expounds upon the looming forecast. The task at hand is to alert the masses that communities are going to have to be equipped to self-sustain without any outside source for a length of time and I quote from panelist members when it happens. According to the panelist; Community Awareness Preparedness is as vague to the general public in 2008 as 2005 when C-Span was airing conferences on the subject.
When asked by journalists how could the message of awareness-preparedness be pitched to the masses in a tone of empowerment without inducing fear? Douglas DeLeaver, Fmr. President Natl Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, suggests strong ties within the church community.
Karen Wilcox, President of Black Women in Fire Service injects an insightful suggestion on how to galvanize the younger audience and reach non-church goers. Last and extremely important Dr. Geoffrey Varner stresses that families should have a plan for relatives in elderly care facilities; and family members, who are dependent upon health care providers. Dr. Varner says providers will leave your beloved relatives to go and take care of their own family; family discussion is a must because whatever is lurking in the air, natural or man-made, since 2005; from President Bush to other organizations, a get ready its coming is the message; whether the masses view the subject mythical, less important, or whatever if communities doesnt have a Post Recovery Plan they will not be equip to effectively survive the post-related recovery when it happens.
The 00:4minute trailer highlights excerpts of National Disaster Response and Civil Liberties dialogue on a critical subject; how to prepare communities for an onslaught of Natural and Man Made Disasters. Viewpoints are distinctly informative. The panelist provides an overview on getting the word out. Panelist of the National Disaster Response and Civil Liberties group joins the bandwagon of it will get worse before it gets better. Natural Man Made Disasters is a topic that cant continue to be ignored. The message of preparedness is having basic essentials for post-related-survival.
“Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” is what King James say’s; but ‘King,’ Jerusalem peace is tied to the peace in the Middle East. Palestinian peace is essential to the peace of Jerusalem. Bloodshed of Palestinian children and women is as precious as the bloodshed from 9-1-1 terrorist acts; yet in a post-911 era; Americans are condition to believe that in the name of “war on terrorism”; the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestinian suffrages are unfortunate circumstances.
Nevertheless; America the beloved; sovereignty she reigns, and her people are blessed with freedoms denied elsewhere, yes! America is blessed; but life teaches alongside the ancient books; The Holy Qu’ran, The Bible, and The Torah that what a nation sows a nation reaps; I guess we can pray for a failed crop; however, Justice is on the throne and eventually she cries out “that our balances are found and wanting.”
Nonetheless; how can Americans not perceive that biological warfare can exude America shores when warfare is what America sows? How can she not experience natural and man-made disasters; when her government launches hi-tech artillery on innocent civilians, replicating misery in cities and kingdoms across the globe; henceforth; it is frequently cited that American liberties are envied and that’s why we are a terrorist target; despite our policies, Iraq occupational violation, and American interests on foreign soil, with much frequency we are told that U.S. liberties makes us the envy of the world; Civil Liberties that’s gradually fading away under Homeland Security. We can see that Privacy Act is the first to dwindle for the cause of national security.
Even so; in a globalized environment my patriotic concern is that we seem to be travelling alongside the Samaritan road passing up the wounded and distraught if they live in Africa, or the Middle East. We have to care! When I view the distressed expression of this child’s photo; (child on the left); I don’t see a Palestinian. I don’t see a child of the Jewish origin. I see an expression of un-merit suffrage on a child’s face.
God is a just God; and if He has a people, it’s a people whose hearts and minds has been circumcised into righteousness; a righteousness that’s based upon love for your fellowman; to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Shalom! Jerusalem.
